Eat Local – Win Local: March Madness Edition

While some don’t know the origin story of Eat Local-Win Local, this effort started 4 years ago as an effort during COVID to help restaurants and the community keep active through very hard times. 

Since then, for the past three years from March 15 – April 15 Berlin restaurants, businesses, and the community come together to keep restaurants humming.

Each year 30+ restaurants participate in this effort of having fun in our community of opportunity.  While you’d think the restaurants are the only ones who benefit from this effort as they get great exposure, it goes beyond that.  Supporters as well as local employers get to experience the vast variety of restaurants and cuisine that continues to evolve in our town. From burgers, brews, sushi, crepes, shakes, ice cream and more.  Stopping in for breakfast, lunch, or dinner with friends, colleagues, and family during March seems to be the new trend which is what we hoped for as it’s typically a rough month.

Patrons who enter (typically 100+) each year are residents, employees of local organizations, or residents of neighboring towns who get the chance to win one of over ten prizes, totaling over $1000 by spending $50 at any participating restaurants.  All they need to do to get started is spend a minimum of $5, which will activate their Eat Local Win Local loyalty card.  The more they spend, the more opportunities they have to enter and win.

The prizes are also donated by local businesses and restaurants therefore being a true community collaboration and keeping the money all in town.

This year, we’re inviting local Food Bloggers to join in the fun and share this opportunity with their foodie communities.  With so many options to explore, this month will be filled with food and fun with friends and family!  Join us!
